Paula came to us at a critical point for her business. She had amazing opportunities and potential for her business, but at the same time she had a business name she wasn’t overly thrilled about, a website that was one in name only (a one pager with nothing much on it), and no regular content marketing or social media.

Paula’s business is different to our other clients as she doesn’t own an accountancy firm. However, she works directly with accountants to provide Xero training and cloud integration, so there was a great fit there..

Here’s what Paula decided to do:

  • Branding (new name and logo design):

Paula had a blank canvas to start with as the original company was completely different to what she and the team now offered. The first step was to delve into who they are now as a business, as a team, their audience and what truly makes them different.

We brainstormed, talked about what was important to Paula and her clients, and considered a lot of names. Paula liked the idea of a one-word name, something simple, and we almost settled on the name Oscar, after the office dog. The only reason it was ruled out was that Oscar would likely have barked constantly every time the phone was answered using his name!

We kept in mind that the connotations of being ‘fresh and bright’ needed to come across. The name LimeCloud came about from this, along with their love of green and because cloud services are key to what they offer.

  • Website design and build:

A custom Rocketspark website was perfect for Paula. She wanted to be able to comfortably maintain their own site, add content, change wording and images at their own pace. Rocketspark makes this very easy but still gives a beautiful clean design.

As with all of our website builds, we wrote content that was exclusively targeted to LimeCloud’s accounting audience, and identified the issues that they faced.

  • Marketing programmes:

To date most of Paula’s marketing was done via word of mouth. This meant there was a huge opportunity to up her marketing education while the website was in progress. Paula joined both the Content Marketer and Social Marketer programmes to get to grips with all the foundational elements of content marketing. She actually applied what she learnt as we moved through the website project, writing blogs, helping edit content on the site, getting photographs taken, even setting up a Twitter account for Oscar!

With the Content Marketer now under her belt she’s continuing this education by applying all that knowledge and stretching her learning even further in the Accelerator programme, along with Estelle who is new to the business!

This project was as refreshing as the LimeCloud brand. Paula and her team were heavily involved by sharing ideas and comments, and made sure that their brand and website were not simply built for them, but with them.
